Transfers from and to the airport

When planning your way to the airport and back, there are basically three options:
  • Airport Transfers in Berlin
Taking a cab: Usually a good choice, please make sure the driver is okay before going into the cab. It doesn’t happen often, but I’ve had guests that were really overcharged for their ride – up to 200 Euro. Depending on the location of your hotel, this should cost about 35-45 Euro. Just ask the driver before entering the cab, how much it should approximately cost. Another thing you should pay attention to is the license plate, which should begin with a “B” (for Berlin); if it doesn’t, it means that the cab is registered elsewhere and that the ride would cost you a little bit more.
  • Booking a private chauffeur: This is more expensive than a cab, because the drivers charge for both directions. But the driver will be waiting for you at the airport holding a sign with your name. Booking a chauffeur usually makes sense if you assume that one cab won’t be enough (depending on the number of people and the amount of luggage), because big vans can sometimes be hard to get on your way out of the airport. If you’d like to book such a service, I could help you with my contacts.
In case of doubt, please don't hesitate to ask for my advice.
