In recent years Berlin has not just evolved into a global center for all kinds of art, but has also become a new European center for culinary pleasures. This process is adequately acknowledged by the renowned Michelin guide, that by now includes 15 local restaurants in its world famous list. None of these, however, was granted the most desired third star; Berlin is indeed a work in progress.
Personally, I'm not very fond of this kind of food and would exchange it anytime for a plate of decent hummus. But I totally understand why many of my guests want to take the opportunity and visit these places while in Berlin (my wife and I do exactly the same when we travel).
So there you go - the 2015 edition of the Michelin list of superb restaurants in Berlin:
Berlin restaurants worthy of one Michelin star
Two Michelin stars
To make things even easier, you can use this personalized Google map to find out which of these restaurants are close to your hotel (one star restaurants in red, two stars in blue):
This list and the map were published by Spitz, our local Israeli city magazine, created in 2012 by a circle of authors, including myself. We like to see it as Berlin's first regular publication in the Hebrew language since the 1930's.
